This contribution turns to the relation between structural violence and collective victimization by using the example of transnational environmental crime. We begin with a definition of structural violence (Johan Galtung) and its effect on creating victimization of specific groups and try to find a connection to the criminological concept of corporate violence. We continue by using the theoretical findings on the case study of Kusile and Medupi – two coal power plants that were built in South Africa. In this process we focus on the effects of the coal power plants on the living conditions of the local population by analyzing Green Victimization.
